Nothing worth having in business come cheap!

As with any other service that you purchase in your working life if a company is offering a search engine optimisation package that looks too good to be true, Guess what, It probably is!

In this post I will give you a list of questions that you should ask your SEO Company before committing to any SEO campaign.

By asking these simple questions you will avoid getting burned by unscrupulous "SEO Cowboys" that don’t deliver on their promises.

  1. Will you analyse my website? - A trained and experienced SEO technician will need to analyse your website and will provide exact details on the onsite work that they will be carrying out. It is impossible for a company to give you quote with carrying out this work so don’t pay for this service.
  2. Will you analyse my competitions websites? - It is imperative to analyse the link strategies of your fiercest online competitors to assess how many quality inbound links they have to their site. This information will help your SEO Company assess how much work will be needed to topple them a in the searches.
  3. Who does the link building? - Many companies will offer you hundreds if not thousands of links in a matter of minutes! Remember the golden rule “if it sounds too good to be true it usually is”! Good quality back links take time to find, even more time to contact and even more to maintain. If you’re SEO Company uses an automated system or outsources your campaign it is impossible to quality control the links. It is not just the amount of back links your site has! Google gives far more weight to their quality.
  4. How quickly will I see results? - Beware any company that offers quick fixes! There is no such thing in SEO. Search engine optimisation requires a "reasonable amount" of time to attain the best results and even then there are never any guarantees. At Virtua Webtech we like to base our campaigns on a 6 month schedule as we feel that is a fair time to achieve results your looking for, but every company may have its own ideas.

A final thought...

There are a lot of SEO companies out there who provide a very good service and as long as they answer the questions above to your satisfaction they will most likely come through on their promises.

Just remember that nothing in life worth having comes cheap! and if you forget everything else in this post, please take this one thought away with you...

If it seems too good to be true, it usually is!

Keyword research is the single most important part of your search engine optimisation campaign.

At Virtua Webtech we understand that keywords are the foundation on which your website is built and if your website is targeting the wrong keywords the chances are your customers may never even see it!

It is therefore important to choose the keywords that your customers are using to find you, not those that you think they are using!

It is a common misconception that as a business owner you will already know the best keywords to target and although you know your business inside out, it would be very unwise to think that you can guess what your customers will enter in the search engines when they are next looking for your services.

A typical customer will not understand the technical jargon that you may use on a daily basis and will therefore have a different set of keywords in mind when they visit their favourite search engine.

At Virtua Webtech we only use tried and tested techniques to achieve the very best results, keyword research is our business and we do not take it lightly.
